Frequently Asked Questions

You Asked, We Answered

What is Homeschooling and How does it work?

Homeschooling is an alternative form of education where parents or guardians choose to educate their children at home instead of enrolling them in a traditional public or private school. In this approach, parents or legal guardians create a personalized curriculum that is tailored to their child's unique needs, interests, and learning style. This provides flexibility in terms of the subjects taught, teaching methods used, and the pace of learning. The specific regulations and requirements for homeschooling can vary widely depending on the country, state, or local jurisdiction, so it's important for homeschooling parents to be aware of and comply with the legal requirements in their area.

What socialization opportunities are available for Homeschooled Teens?

At SO GROUNDED™, we take pride in our commitment to supporting our community as a locally-owned business. Through active engagement with local organizations and events, we strive to foster connections and promote collaboration. Our scholars develop social skills while traveling within the community, attending scholarly lectures and trips, enrolling in athletic programs and are encouraged to seek local part-time jobs or internships.

Why should I Homeschool?

Why not? You are your child's first teacher. It's empowering for both the child and parent, reinforces family values, and allows more engagement which leads to better absorption of knowledge and skills. Although Brown v. Board of Education ended legal segregation in public schools, it did not end racial inequality in education. Traditional schools are failing us and the racial disparities in education are the cumulative effect of generations of racism, divestment, and denied opportunity.  Therefore, educating our children is the first step toward generational wealth which in turn brings back order, balance, and truth to its rightful place.
